Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, a scientific research organisation headquartered in Geesthacht, Germany, will highlight the application of magnesium Metal Injection Molding at this year’s Euro PM2025 Congress and Exhibition.

Compared to aluminium, magnesium is around one-third less dense and has a higher specific strength, making it ideal for lightweight applications. Magnesium’s combination of biodegradability and stability makes it well-suited to medical implants and other medical applications.

Researchers will present three papers in the Euro PM2025 MIM sessions:

  • Carbon characterisation in MIM degradable Mg-0.6Ca alloy using electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy techniques, by Dr Ing Eshwara Nidadavolu
  • Hydration of titanium by degeneration of magnesium at Mg0.6Ca|Ti-6Al-4V hybrid implants, by Dipl-Ing Wolfgang Limberg
  • Digital twin: How to implement digital sintering study assessment into daily research practice – Mg-alloy AZ81 MIM processing and sintering as an example, by Dipl-Ing Martin Wolff

Organised by the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA), Euro PM2025 is taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, from September 14 to 17. The full technical programme is now available.

Early discounted registration rates are open until August 26th.
