Visottica Group publishes its first sustainability report

Visottica Group, a producer of eyewear components based in Susegana, Italy, has announced the publication of its first Sustainability Report, released in advance of the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirement for large companies.
The document is the result of two years of in-depth analysis by an internal team dedicated to sustainability, in collaboration with Deloitte and following the Global Reporting Initiative international standards. The reports is an important starting point that not only certifies the commitment as a Group, but also outlines the future ESG strategy. It highlights the concrete actions that the company is putting in place in all its subsidiaries and in all the territories in which it operates, to build a business that is increasingly sustainable for the company, the people, and the environment.

As explained in the document, Visottica orients its vision to sustainability in every activity it undertakes, aiming for a positive impact in the eyewear industry and the sectors in which it operates. The recently launched sustainability programme, called ‘The Visible Journey,’ emphasises transparency, innovation and integrity, actively engaging stakeholders and inviting them to contribute to positive change.
Key areas of the report are social and environmental stewardship, through promoting well-being, equity and inclusion within the workforce and supporting communities in all the territories in which it operates, from Italy to China, measuring and reducing its carbon footprint, and adopting renewable energy and new materials.
In terms of social impact, Visottica promotes wellness, equity and inclusion in the workforce, with activities aimed at employee engagement and physical and psychological well-being services from Italy to China. It also actively supports cultural and sports initiatives and is involved in social projects such as supporting the ‘Oltre il Labirinto’ Foundation for the inclusion of young people with autism.
On the environmental impact front, the company has embarked on a path for progressive consumption reduction and energy efficiency. The total production water recycling project, meanwhile, has already achieved complete success at the plant in China, setting a new standard for Group-wide implementation in the coming years.
The report also outlines the company’s Circular Economy projects. At the Susegana plant, metal shavings are reused as new raw materials, reducing resource requirements by about 9 tons. In addition, GRS and ISCC certifications for recycled materials were obtained in 2024 to establish collaborative production dialogues with customers toward more sustainable products.
The Report is available here.
