Verder Scientific acquires Chinese material testing equipment distributor

September 24, 2019

Verder Scientific, a division of Verder Group headquartered in Haan, Germany, has formally agreed to acquire all shares of the Chinese company EZ-mat, Shanghai, becoming its sole owner. EZ-mat is a distributor of material testing equipment in China and already represents two of Verder Scientific’s product lines for metallographic preparation and hardness testing: ATM and Qness.

The company employs thirty-five staff and, following the acquisition, will provide Verder Scientific with direct access to relevant customer segments, strengthening its position in the Chinese market. As Verder Scientific’s other product lines are already represented in China by its own company, Verder Shanghai Instruments and Equipment Co., Ltd, the acquisition of EZ-mat will reportedly allow the two companies to merge sales channels and contacts.

Verder Shanghai currently maintains four offices with a staff of fifty in China and, with the combined EZ-mat workforce, expects to become a major player in the distribution of quality control equipment in the region, allowing it to close more strategic, global deals with key accounts in China.
