Powder Metallurgy innovations on display at Ceramitec 2018

October 24, 2017

Ceramitec 2018, the international trade fair for the ceramics industry, will be held in Munich, Germany, April 10-13, 2018. The event will be attended by a range of international Powder Metallurgy and Powder Injection Moulding related exhibitors.

According to the event organisers, Ceramitec 2018 will showcase the latest in Powder Metallurgy technologies during its exhibition and conference programme, with a number of PM companies set to exhibit their latest mechanical and thermal processes, manufacturing technologies and optimised materials.

It is reported that the event will host 600 exhibitors from 37 countries, and welcome around 15,000 visitors, with 4,000 expected to attend the adjacent conference programme. Every branch of the industry will be represented, from traditional ceramics through to industrial ceramics, ceramic engineering, technical ceramics and Powder Metallurgy.

Among those topics of particular concern will be ways in which the PM industry can take advantage of opportunities in the automotive industry, as well as how manufacturers can tackle issues such as increases in the prices of alloy elements like nickel and molybdenum, and higher sintering temperatures for advanced applications. Innovations in Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) plants are also expected to be showcased by several companies during the exhibition.

Powder Injection Moulding will also be a key topic at the trade fair, encompassing both Ceramic Injection Moulding and Metal Injection Moulding. In addition, both ceramic and metal Additive Manufacturing technologies will be on display, as well as a number of ‘Industry 4.0’ solutions.
