Organised by the Fachverband Pulvermetallurgie, the symposium includes a dynamic programme with leading experts presenting on material development, process innovations, and advanced applications. Topics also include hydrogen-based heat treatment, cold sintering, sustainable carbide development, Additive Manufacturing, and novel PM solutions for fusion and solar energy.
With company exhibitions, posters, and contributions from young researchers, the Hagen Symposium is the ideal place to connect across generations and disciplines within the PM community. The event also serves as a key platform for networking, recruitment, and knowledge exchange within the industry.
The 2025 Skaupy lecture
Dr-Ing Markus Schneider of GKN Powder Metallurgy GmbH, Radevormwald, will present this year’s Skaupy Lecture. His lecture will discuss time-dependent fracture phenomena due to stress corrosion cracking in high-strength sintered steels and provide a basic understanding of stress corrosion cracking and its causes, assessment, and prevention.
The paper also examines the effectiveness of potential surface treatments, with the influences of density and microstructure also considered. In addition, the results are correlated and discussed with fractographic and metrological findings regarding fracture progression and hydrogen concentration.
The Hagen Symposium is a German-speaking congress. The full programme is available to download here.
