Powder Injection Moulding workshop to be organised in Mumbai
July 20, 2013
The Powder Metallurgy Association of India, an association of Indian and overseas PM professionals from industry, research and academia, is conducting a one day workshop on Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) in Mumbai.
The event will be held at the Ramada Powai Hotel & Convention Centre Powai, Mumbai, on Saturday 24 August 2013 and the speaker is Prof Sundar V Atre. The event covers both metal (MIM) and ceramic (CIM) injection molding.
Powder Injection Molding, state the organisers, recently took some large leaps forward. In 2012 PIM technology accounted for about $1.45 billion in sales. It is an impressive performance, rising from modest sales of $6 million in 1986 when there were about 30 active operations.
The PIM 2013 Workshop presents a technology overview for new and prospective entrants to the PIM business. Four learning modules will be presented from recently collected data on research, sales, employment, capacity, productivity, materials, and geographic trends.
The course is broken down into the following modules:
Module 1
