The Advanced Materials for Additive Manufacturing group at the National Research Council in Canada (NRC) has installed an Admaflex 130 Additive Manufacturing machine from Dutch company Admatec, to aid in its activities developing new photoresins for Vat Photopolymerisation (VPP) to process ceramics and metals.

Dr Chantal Paquet, head of the Advanced Materials for Additive Manufacturing group, has expressed excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead in developing new materials, AM material architectures and the technologies these materials & architectures will enable.

The Admaflex 130 uses VPP to produce metal AM and ceramic AM parts. The group states that its ability to innovate in the material space has been helped by the Admaflex 130’s open platform, which enables users to adjust the build parameters in order to maintain good build quality with new materials.
