New event focuses on the Additive Manufacturing of ceramics

July 15, 2016

A new conference, Additive Manufacturing Ceramics, will take place from September 26 – 27, 2016, in Nürnberg, Germany. The two-day event focuses on the successful integration of ceramic Additive Manufacturing technologies in existing ceramics-based businesses. It is organised in cooperation with Lithoz, the German Ceramic Society, Cluster Werkstoff Keramik, Bayern Innovativ, 3Druck.com, Ceramic Applications and the CFI.

Ceramic Additive Manufacturing has the potential to radically change the ceramics market. The available manufacturing systems for ceramic AM have already reached an advanced level and now present a real alternative to conventional manufacturing methods, particularly for short run complex components, functional prototypes for Ceramic Injection Moulding producers, or for ceramic parts that simply cannot be manufactured by any other method.

Lithoz’s Johannes Homa stated, “This event does not aim to whitewash a new technology, or advertise it, but rather to offer a closer look at ceramic AM and to allow the networking of all relevant stakeholders. Not meant as a once-in-a-lifetime affair, this event is set to be an annual benchmark for the AM ceramic community.”
