The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) has announced the launch of a new series of educational videos focused on Powder Metallurgy. The four-part series, based on the popular PickPM Day Seminars presented during POWDERMET, will be distributed throughout 2017.

The first video in the series, “Introducing Powder Metallurgy and the PM Industry”, is available to watch now. Hosted by John Engquist, FAPMI, former president of the Centre for Powder Metallurgy Technology (CPMT), this introductory video covers a brief history of PM, followed by a discussion on market segments, common PM applications, the technical advantages of using PM and a brief overview of PM processes.

Future videos in the series will cover conventional press-and-sinter PM, Metal Injection Moulding, and Metal Additive Manufacturing, with an isostatic pressing video also in early development, stated the MPIF.
