March 18, 2024
MIM2024, the International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics, and Carbides, took place in Raleigh, North Caroline, USA, from February 26-28. Sponsored by the Metal Injection Molding Association (MIMA), APMI International and the MPIF, the conference attracted over 105 delegates, representing over seventy companies from ten countries.
The event featured twenty-five technical presentations that highlighted the latest Metal Injection Moulding-related materials, processes, testing, tooling, and sintering technologies. Additionally, nearly thirty companies showcased their products and services during a tabletop exhibit, with many of the exhibitors showcasing the latest developments during the Technological Process & Product Innovations presentations. A reception and tour of Kymera International were included in the programme.
The conference began with a keynote presentation on ESG & Sustainability by Barton White, Kymera International. White outlined a comprehensive approach to ESG (environmental, social and governance), emphasising measurable objectives, safety, inclusive reward structures, and community engagement.
At MIM2024, MIMA supported five students by providing grants for them to attend the conference. The recipients of the grants were not only given the chance to attend presentations, make connections with professionals in the field and get exposure to the MIM industry, but each provided a presentation on work at their universities.
