The company stated that the appointment, together with the new ownership structure, will enable it to accelerate decision-making, increase investment and strengthen collaboration with customers across scientific and industrial sectors.

Sauber brings more than twenty-five years of leadership experience in the life sciences and diagnostics sectors, including senior positions at Danaher and Agilent. Since joining the company, he has focused on developing a culture of ownership, accountability and customer-centricity, while engaging with employees and customers at sites in the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, China and India.

“We have a clear vision: to continue to be a trusted and recognised leader for quality and insights in material characterisation,” Sauber stated. “That means being the partner our customers rely on, whether they are developing life-saving medicines, engineering cleaner fuels, or pushing the boundaries of materials science. We have the expertise, the technology, and now the resources to move at pace.”

Private ownership supports long-term strategy

KKR’s acquisition of Spectris, announced in August 2025 and completed in December 2025, marks a change in ownership for Malvern Panalytical. According to the company, the move provides greater flexibility to pursue long-term investment in innovation, accelerate decision-making and align leadership incentives more closely with business performance.

The company also stated that further acquisitions to strengthen the Malvern Panalytical business will remain a strategic priority.

“I am delighted that Christian is joining us and look forward to drawing on his wealth of experience and proven business success. In his new role as President of Malvern Panalytical, Christian will enhance our growth and performance ambitions. He is a strong leader for the business and excellent addition to our Spectris leadership team,” said Andrew Williams, Chairman and Interim CEO, Spectris.
