Lucideon Limited, a materials consultancy located in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK, is broadening its capabilities with access to the new AMRICC Centre, developed to channel new routes to commercialisation in the advanced ceramics sector. The company hopes to open opportunities for clients in the aerospace, defence, healthcare, and nuclear energy fields to fast track materials development.

Also based in Stoke-on-Trent, the AMRICC (Applied Materials Research, Innovation & Commercialisation Company) Centre will house a selection of next-generation, high-value equipment. The facility will include adaptable pilot lines which offer end-to-end capability through all the steps involved in ceramics and advanced ceramics manufacturing. Clients can also take advantage of a consultancy approach, in which on-site technicians, scientists and engineers will be available.

“The AMRICC Centre is a landmark project and Lucideon is proud to be a key part of it,” stated Richard Goodhead, Lucideon’s Chief Marketing Officer. “From our new base, we will be able to offer a world-class partnership to clients who are looking to take innovative ideas and place them on the fast-track into commercialisation, by reducing the time to market through a unique blend of knowledge, equipment and expertise.

“The centre is purpose-built to support early prototyping and development trials, the development of new manufacturing processes, small scale trials of standard processes, and the production of trial batches,” he continued. “This includes developing new materials or products quicker, in better quality, at lower cost, as well as enhancing manufacturing processes or developing new manufacturing methods to make improvements in productivity and performance more economically and efficiently.”

Goodhead concluded, “It’s a compelling offer for our clients, who will benefit from our unrivalled expertise in utilising these world-leading facilities to bring their products to market more rapidly and economically, and at the same time underpin sustainability and net-zero goals into projects.”
