Lithoz celebrates a decade of ceramic Additive Manufacturing

Lithoz GmbH, Vienna, Austria, celebrated its ten-year anniversary as a provider of ceramic Additive Manufacturing machines and materials in August this year. Initially founded as a spin-off from the Vienna University of Technology in 2011, Lithoz was created with a mission to establish ceramic AM as a reliable manufacturing process for industrial mass production.

“When we started the company, nobody was actually able to do the Additive Manufacturing of high-performance ceramics,” stated Dr Johannes Homa, CEO. “Nobody could meet the industrial standards. We did something that was not possible before.”

After a decade of building its global market, the company stresses its belief that its success was down to the combination of its core values – the importance of the team, the strong ties to academia, an emphasis on endurance and precision and the collaboration with customers.

Lithoz has stated its hope that its work in the field of ceramic AM will, over the next few years, establish the technology as a fixed part of the ceramic industry which goes hand-in-hand with traditional manufacturing techniques.

Dr Johannes Benedikt added, “Our vision has always been to implement 3D printing on an ever larger industrial scale – and further strengthen our position as the number one choice for newcomers in the field.”
