Kyocera has received the award for its R&D focused on developing a highly innovative process for Additive Manufacturing with silicon-infiltrated silicon carbide (SiSiC).
“The fact that we have once again been awarded the BSFZ seal highlights our ongoing commitment to innovation in research and development,” stated Dr Nikolaos Katsikis, Chief Technology Officer at Kyocera. “Additive Manufacturing of SiSiC ceramic components represents an important milestone for us, strengthening our technological position in the field of high-performance products.”
Additive Manufacturing with SiSiC
Kyocera’s establishment of Binder Jetting (BJT) Additive Manufacturing technology at its Selb site has expanded its portfolio in the field of high-performance technical ceramics, creating new opportunities for manufacturing complex, large-format components.
As part of its research and development activities, Kyocera stated it is working to further optimise materials and processes, with the aim of expanding the range of applications for additively manufactured SiSiC components.
