  • Modelling of the HIP process and evolution of microstructure
  • Mechanical properties, optimisation of fatigue properties
  • Formation, evolution and characterisation of defects
  • Synthesis of Advanced Materials via HIP – waste forms, LEDs, sputtering targets, scintillators
  • HIP of ceramics, MMCs, gems and crystals – armour, windows, medical and dental devices
  • HIP of castings, MIM, Additive Manufacturing
  • HIP for aerospace and powder generation
  • HIP of wear and corrosion resistant materials, diffusion bonding and HIP cladding
  • HIP of large components and industry demands for large HIPs
  • HIP tooling – modelling, reduced costs, reusable use of Additive Manufacturing
  • HIP equipment and processing – nuclear, ultra high pressure, quenching, continuous evacuation, in-situ alloying
  • New applications and related technologies – HIP impregnation, warm & cold isostatic, sinterHIP
