This year’s event featured two technical presentations: one from Sven Fleischmann of BASF, which focused on the use of AI in feedstock production, and one from Christian Kukla, from Montanuniversität Leoben, on the feedstock-based Additive Manufacturing of magnets.

The MIM-Expertenkreis meeting also featured a tour of GKN Powder Metallurgy’s production operations, including both its Metal Injection Moulding and metal Binder Jetting (BJT) Additive Manufacturing facilities.

Members of the MIM-Expertenkreis include MIM companies, suppliers and research institutes. It is a technical working group of the German Powder Metallurgy Committee, supported by the Fachverband Pulvermetallurgie, the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde (DGM), the Deutsche Keramische Gesellschaft (DKG) and the Verein Deutscher Eisenhüttenleute (VdEH).
