GKN Additive to showcase its IATF 16949:2016 certified Binder Jetting at Formnext 2022

GKN Additive has announced it will showcase its metal Binder Jetting (BJT), engineering and mass production capabilities at Formnext 2022. The company will demonstrate its end-to-end digital workflow from design through post-processing and qualification in an IATF 16949:2016 certified environment. Using the real-life example of a collaboration with HP and the electrical engineering group Schneider Electric, GKN Additive will show the quality of its metal Additive Manufacturing.

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing requires expert knowledge, and this is where GKN Additive’s position as part of GKN Powder Metallurgy comes into play. Among other things, this results in its in-depth PM knowledge and extensive experience in the sintering process. Thanks to this wide scope of experience, the company is able to identify potential problems in advance and knows which adjustments may prevent them from occurring in the first place.

“We can produce components with complex geometries on an industrial scale and demonstrate additional added value in the products. As consultants and product developers, we take a very close look at the design of the products and, wherever it makes sense, adapt it optimally to customer requirements and the production process,” stated John Dulchinos, president at GKN Additive.

The company’s manufacturing sites combine automotive industry standards with Additive Manufacturing series production and work to meet the most complex industrial requirements. As a result, its engineering experts may provide useful advice and local support in the implementation of ideas, from the initial concept phase to industrial series production.
