The 21st annual EPHJ Show, set to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 6-9, 2023, will once again be held at the Palexpo International Exhibition and Convention Centre. This year’s event will bring together the high-precision watchmaking, microtechnology and medical industries, with more than 800 exhibitors and around 20,000 visitors expected at the show.

The EPHJ organisers report that approximately 90% of exhibitors say they are active in watchmaking and 59% in microtechnology, they also shared that 50% of them say they are active in the medtech industry.

“The number of exhibitors is up compared to 2022,” stated EPHJ Director Alexandre Catton. “The watchmaking and jewellery industry in fine form and is contributing greatly to the encouraging prospects for this year’s EPHJ – as is the strong potential shown by the medical technology market. Our exhibitors understand that even though their order books are full, it’s still important to meet and see their customers in a different setting so they can nurture their professional relationships and open up to other perspectives and outlooks.”

The event is expected to serve as a venue for debate and discussion, enabling attendees to gain a perspective on current topics. EPHJ Round Tables will kick off on June 6th with a debate on the upturn in the watchmaking industry: will it continue in 2023 or is the downturn about to start?

This will then be followed by two more Round Tables on June 7th, this time focusing on robotics. In the morning, EPHJ and Stäubli will present on the potential of haptic robotics in watchmaking production. Whereas the second Round Table of the day will address the technological alliance for medical robotics of the future.

Finally, on June 8th the event will hold a debate on low-energy and energy-efficient industrial processes. Industry experts will present their best practices and share their experiences with Oliviero Lubatti, CEO of Romande Energie Services, Préverenges, Switzerland. The afternoon session will host a discussion with master watchmaker Philippe Dufour, who, along with other personalities, will debate and discuss the challenges involved in handing down watchmaking expertise.
