Asiamold organisers report successful opening

August 11, 2020

Asiamold 2020, organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd., and held concurrently with SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou (SIAF), reported a successful opening this week. The event will run from August 11–13, 2020.

The event, which covers the latest die casting, Additive Manufacturing, metalworking, mould making, laser, bearing and foundry technologies, was originally scheduled to take place from February 26–28, 2020, but was postponed due to coronavirus (COVID-19). Over 650 exhibitors are currently showcasing their latest developments and solutions in the event’s 40,000 m2 show area.

Extra healthcare and hygiene precautions have been put in place during the event due to COVID-19, which include real-name authentication at registration, on-site temperature checks and frequent sterilisation of public areas, and distancing measures for conference and seminar audiences.

Hubert Duh, chairman of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, commented, “The manufacturing industry is one of the most important industries in China and we are very excited to open SIAF Guangzhou and Asiamold, our first two fairs in Guangzhou since January 2020 and be able to support the industry by providing a key trading platform for manufacturing businesses in the South China region.”

Duh added, “Catering to the increasing demand for protective gear and health equipment, Asiamold’s new Mould and 3D Printing Epidemic Prevention Technology Display Zone located in Hall 1.2 will present the manufacturing processes of various products. With this zone and other smart manufacturing solutions on display, we hope to help industries resume normal operations as soon as possible.”

Martin Roschkowski, president of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, stated, “Various industries continue to be challenged by the COVID-19 virus outbreak which temporarily suspended numerous global businesses and production lines. The ongoing pandemic has had a huge economic impact globally, but also presents new opportunities for the manufacturing industry, introducing an urgency for manufacturers to upgrade and incorporate automated technologies, particularly in China as being the world’s factory.

“In light of the current healthcare emergency, through the collective efforts of SIAF Guangzhou and Asiamold, the group’s first trade fairs to open in Guangzhou, China this year under the smart manufacturing cluster, we hope to help the industry recover and support the growing manufacturing industries across Asia,” Roschkowski continued.
