Ceramic Injection Molding course to take place in San Diego, CA, USA, September 16-17

The American Ceramics Society (ACS) is organising a two-day course on Ceramic Injection Molding, aimed at end-users, researchers new to the field and current industry personnel. The course takes place at the Double Tree Hotel, San Diego, California and will be instructor by Randall M. German, San Diego State University, USA.

Day one:

• Debinding options, rates, section thickness effect, polymer pyrolysis, softening, defects
• Sintering cycles, heating rates, atmospheres, furnaces, furnace operation, problems
• Process simulation, computer packages, benefits, costs, knowledge base required

Day two:

• Finishing steps, inspection, testing
• Materials, properties, testing techniques, product qualifications,
• Design features, tolerances, allowed features, difficulties, defect avoidance
• Process yield and tricks to improve yield, cost of yield and tolerance stacks
