CASTEM Co, Ltd, headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan, has outlined its global manufacturing network and the close collaboration between its overseas production facilities in the Philippines, Thailand and Colombia, as well as its newly operational facility in Vietnam. The company specialises in investment casting and Metal Injection Molding (MIM) for the production of high-precision metal components, and states that approximately 90% of its total shipments are now manufactured at overseas sites.

In 2002, the company established CASTEM Thailand to produce MIM components, with a second Thai MIM facility established in 2018. CASTEM Thailand (Factory 1) has a production capacity of around 280,000 parts per month, with the newer facility, CASTEM Thailand (Factory 2), having capacity for some 420,000 parts per month.

Both CASTEM Thailand factories obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification in 2015, with CASTEM Thailand (Factory 2) gaining the international quality management standard for medical device manufacturing, ISO 13485, in 2016.

The company’s first overseas investment casting facility was established in the Philippines in 1995 and has steadily expanded to become the largest investment casting production site within the CASTEM Group. A further investment casting site in Thailand, CASTEM Thailand (Siam), was established in 2004, and in 2015, the group opened an investment casting facility in Colombia.

In 2018, the company opened CASTEM Technology Laboratory in California to support metal prototyping and 3D scanning services.

In 2026, CASTEM opened a new investment casting facility in Vietnam. A planned second-phase expansion will include a mold manufacturing and machining building, increasing production capacity to one million parts per month and making it the largest production facility within the CASTEM Group.

By operating manufacturing sites across multiple countries, CASTEM said it reduces dependence on any single region while minimising supply chain risks. This diversified production network enables it to provide customers worldwide with a stable and reliable supply of precision metal components.

Across its domestic and overseas facilities, the company produces more than 1.5 million precision metal parts each month. By combining high-volume production at its facilities with engineering and quality support from its headquarters in Japan, CASTEM supports customers from prototype development through full-scale mass production.
