The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has issued a reminder that entry to this year’s Thesis Competition will close April 22, 2026. The competition is open to graduates from European universities whose theses have been officially accepted within the past three years.

Held since 1994, the thesis competition recognises excellence at both Masters and Doctorate levels. The competition aims to promote Powder Metallurgy among young scientists at European academic institutions and encourage research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Prizes and benefits include:

  • €500 for the Diploma/Master’s category
  • €1,000 for the Doctorate/PhD category
  • Complimentary registration to the Euro PM2026 Congress and Exhibition
  • Invitation to present a three-minute thesis summary during the Opening Plenary Session
  • Up to three nights of hotel accommodation in Budapest (October 11-14), supported by the PMEXCEL European Project, for:
    • The top four PhD theses
    • The top two Master’s theses

The winners will be announced to the PM community at Euro PM2026 in Budapest, Hungary, October 11 -14, 2026.
