Organisers of the Direct Digital Manufacturing Conference 2025 (DDMC) have published the full Technical Programme, highlighting six keynote speakers. The event will be held March 12-13 in Berlin, Germany.

Organised by the Fraunhofer Competence Field Additive Manufacturing, the DDMC is a bi-annual forum for discussion on Additive Manufacturing, including its application in industry and the environmental impact of the manufacturing technologies. Impact on health, sustainability and society will also be discussed.

The two-day event brings together researchers, educators and practitioners from around the world and fosters an atmosphere conducive to developing new ideas and refining already existing research developments.

Around fifty presentations will be given by industry experts and researchers through fifteen sessions. The keynote speakers are as follows:

  • Prof Enrico Stoll (TU Berlin, Berlin, Germany), ‘The Challenges of In-Space Manufacturing and Assembly Using Small Satellites’
  • Prof Wojciech Matusik (MIT, Cambridge, USA), ‘Can Computers Beat Humans at Design?’
  • Dr Sebastian Piegert and Dr Cynthia Wirth (Siemens Energy, Berlin), ‘The Future of Additive Manufacturing – Vision and Challenges on Setting up a Global Manufacturing Network at Siemens Energy’
  • Ben Hartkopp (Quantica, Berlin), ‘The Building Blocks of Digital Manufacturing: Functional Materials and Precise Deposition’
  • Prof. Bianca Maria Colosimo (Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy), ‘In-situ Monitoring in AM: Challenges and Opportunities to Unlock Real-time Qualification’
