EMO Hannover to showcase innovative manufacturing
EMO Hannover 2023 is set to take place this September 18-23, where more than 1,750 companies from 42 countries are expected to exhibit. The event, organised by VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association), will include three focal themes: The Future of Business, The Future of Sustainability in Production, and The Future of Connectivity.
“Under the banner of Innovate Manufacturing, we have decided to focus on three megatopics at EMO Hannover this year,” Dr Markus Heering, Executive Director at the VDW, stated. “The aim here is to show that production technology is not merely of interest to experts, but that the industry is doing its part to solve the most pressing problems of our time. And that’s what exhibitors are showing – in impressive variety and depth – with their technical solutions here at the preview and at the fair itself in September.”

The Future of Business topic will reportedly feature experts from the machining industry and related sectors in hopes to provide information on innovative business, contract and sales models, new sales markets, forward-looking ways of financing sales, as well as providing opportunities by new-work concepts.
The Future of Sustainability in Production topic looks to address the issue of sustainability as a task for society as a whole, particularly highlighting its impact on companies within the manufacturing industry and exploring current trends in sustainable production, energy efficiency, electromobility, alternative drives and more.
The Future of Connectivity, however, is dedicated to the technological aspects of change, such as new applications, automation processes, smart production, Industry 4.0, machine learning, predictive maintenance, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and more.
“After a four-year break, EMO is returning to Hannover – with a new concept, with a new look and with renewed energy,” added Dr Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director of the VDW. “The mood is buzzing. That much emerged clearly from the Preview. Our exhibitors and we, the organisers, are very much looking forward to reconnecting with our customers and business partners.”
