Ceramics Expo reports successful 2022 event
Smarter Shows, the organiser of Ceramics Expo 2022, has reported a successful seventh edition of the trade fair, which this year welcomed over 2,500 visitors to an event that included 237 exhibitors and two-day conference.
The conference included speakers from companies such as Kyocera, Lockheed Martin, GE Aviation, Lithoz, Morgan Advanced Materials and the US Department of Energy. Held in conjunction with the Thermal Management conference, the sessions attracted a combined audience of over 650.
Day one covered materials, manufacturing and applications. Each session covered a range of topics, including the development of ceramic matrix composites, silicon carbide (SiC) for electronics, ceramic Additive Manufacturing, environmental advantages of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) through ceramic optimisation and the role of glass in sustainability.
Day two saw the exploration of industry development. Sessions covered the future of the technical ceramics market, using collaboration and innovation to improve efficiency, using private equity (PE) investment to develop lower middle market companies, and how to address the shortage of trained ceramicists.
Discussing the event, Martyn Acreman, Performance Alloy Defence Market Director, Materion, stated, “We really like the show, the attendance and the quality of the leads is very, very good, so we’re really happy having made the decision to come. We’re here to meet anybody that wants to talk thermal management or ceramics. It’s an opportunity to network and collaborate with people in the industry.”
The next edition of Ceramics Expo will take place May 1-3, 2023, in Novi, Michigan, USA.
