ECerS launches open-access journal for ceramic materials
January 14, 2020
The European Ceramic Society AISBL, (ECerS), Mons, Belgium, has launched an official and peer-reviewed open-access journal titled Open Ceramics. The journal is published by Elsevier, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
According to ECerS, the journal publishes the results of original research and reviews relating to all classes of ceramic materials, from traditional to advanced ceramics, from glasses to refractories, and from bioceramics to ceramic matrix composites. Research results are said to be focused on raw materials, powders, fibres, coatings and porous or compacted bodies. Ceramic Injection Moulding also falls within the scope of the publication.
Contributions dealing with scientific aspects or applied research and reporting experimental, theoretical and modelling approaches and new perspectives will reportedly be welcomed on a fully international basis. The emphasis is believed to be on emerging science or technological developments highlighting the relationships between processing, microstructure and properties of ceramics, glasses and other nonmetallic inorganic materials, as well as their synthesis, manufacture and applications.
The society states that the key objective of the journal is to provide a venue for the dissemination of high quality, novel research and technological developments in ceramic and inorganic materials, targeting a wide audience ranging from academia to industry.
