2008 International Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards Competition announced

The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) has opened the 2008 International PM Design Excellence Awards Competition. The competition recognizes outstanding achievements in the commercial production of powder metallurgy (PM) and metal injection moulded (MIM) components.

Entries in each category (automotive, aerospace, lawn and garden/off-highway, industrial motors/controls and hydraulics, hardware/appliances, medical/dental, and electronic/electrical) are eligible for a grand prize and awards of distinction.

PM and MIM parts manufacturers from North America and overseas that are members of the Metal Powder Industries Federation and their customers may submit entries. Judging guidelines are based on design configuration, engineering properties and promotional value to the PM industry.

Winners will be announced at an awards luncheon at 2008 World Congress on Powder Metallurgy amp; Particulate Materials, June 8–12, Washington, DC.
