Freeman Technology, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, UK, will showcase its powder testing solutions at the 10th Shanghai International Powder Metallurgy Exhibition and Conference (PM China), to be held at Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Centre, Shanghai, China, April 26-28, 2017.

Visitors to Freeman’s exhibition stand will have the opportunity to view a demonstration of the company’s FT4 Powder Rheometer®, which uses patented dynamic methodology, a fully automated shear cell and several bulk property tests including density, compressibility and permeability, to quantify powder properties in terms of flow and processability, the company states.

The FT4 has applications in a wide range of industries, including Powder Metallurgy, where Freeman Technology have stated that it can help deliver data to maximise process and product understanding, and may accelerate R&D and formulation towards successful commercialisation, while supporting the long-term optimisation of powder processes.

Copies of Freeman Technology’s recently published application note, “Powder Rheology in Additive Manufacturing”, will also be available at the exhibition stand. This note presents four case studies that demonstrate how the rheological properties of powders can be applied to AM applications to optimise in-process performance, as well as illustrating the limitations of single parameter characterisation techniques.

Freeman Technology will be available in the exhibition hall at Booth No. A041.
