Optical metrology and optical component manufacturer Zygo Corporation, headquartered in Middlefield, Connecticut, USA, a business unit of Ametek, Inc., has announced the opening of a new office in Italy. This will be led by Marco Pagano as Senior Field Engineer and Luca Grisoni as Sales Manager, who will help the company serve its growing European customer base, which is already supported by a location in Germany and partner network in the UK, France, Czech Republic, Turkey and Romania.

The company’s optical profiler products utilise non-contact coherence scanning interferometry technology to offer precise, rapid and quantitative surface metrology of form and roughness for improved part quality and manufacturing yields.

“Zygo has a large and highly knowledgeable team of experts in the fields of precision metrology and optics who deliver exceptional results for its customers by constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible,” stated Neil Curtis, DVP Sales Marketing & Service at Zygo. “We’re thrilled to be expanding our presence in Europe. Our new office positions us to be able to grow in the region and provide exceptional service to our customers.”

Zygo has a fifty-year heritage in the precision metrology and optics manufacturing sectors. From its inception, the company has sought to address challenging problems faced by industry. Over 750 patents have been issued to Zygo scientists and engineers who are engaged in professional societies, standards committees, university collaborations, and professional publication activities.
