MIM 2010 conference to focus on Ti-PIM

15th Jan, 2010

MIM 2010The MIM 2010 International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides returns to Long Beach, California, USA, from March 29-31 2010.

Sponsored by North America’s Metal Injection Molding Association, a trade association of the MPIF, the event is chaired by Animesh Bose, Materials Processing, Inc., and Fred Robinson, Kinetics Climax, Inc.

As well as general PIM related presentations, a session will be devoted to the Metal Injection Molding (MIM) of titanium, featuring the following presentations from industry experts in North America, Europe and Asia:

General sessions include a broad selection of papers, including the following (as of January 2010):

A special keynote presentation will be made by Lars Gehlback, of Sybon Dental Specialties, USA, focusing on the advantages of MIM over competing technologies and on the impact the technology has made in orthodontics.

Powder Injection Molding Tutorial
In addition to conference sessions, there will also be a 1 day Powder Injection Molding Tutorial presented by Randall M. German, San Diego State University.

This will provide a basis for determining options, uses, properties, applications, and opportunities for cost-effective PIM manufacturing. Individuals who will benefit from the tutorial include engineers, business managers, procurement managers, component designers, and technicians.

This course is also a must for consumers of PIM components and organizations that are exploring the opportunities associated with developing their own PIM manufacturing facilities.
